so i just want to send a quick shout out to s.f.-based local filmmaker, Megan Mylan, for winning an Oscar last night for her short doc, Smile Pinki. Congrats Megan!!
and for those that don't know, she and Jon Shenk also did an amazing doc five years ago called The Lost Boys of Sudan. if you haven't seen that full-length doc, do yourself a favor and watch it. it's through Lost Boys that i was acquainted with Megan and she is nothing but a pleasure to work with - passionate, dedicated and incredible in all that she does.
so again, i gotta say, CONGRATS, MEGAN, and to all the crew involved!

Wow, it's awesome that your friend won an Oscar!! :D I haven't seen Smile Pinki yet, although I'm interested. I've read a few articles about it, and it sounds like the kind of film that I'd enjoy seeing. Congratulations to your friend!
