cold and COLD

it's 44 degrees right now in san francisco. 44 degrees, people! we were hit with crazy rain and wind over the weekend that has now eased up to give way to very, very cold temps - last night some parts of the bay area were in the low 20's. i haven't experienced this kind of cold weather since my days back east when i was in college - and i'm not prepared. my hoodies are warm, but not warm enough to withstand the weather - nor my gloves or knit caps. it's time to dig out the thermals...if i knew where they were!

to make matters worse, i caught a bad cold. who knows how i got it but i got slammed monday and couldn't make it to work yesterday - or today. yep, i'm in my pjs sitting on the sofa and drinking tea as i type this entry in. it's nice to have a day off but it's so close to the holidays that i'm missing out on lots of fun stuff, such as tonight's LEZ Bar at Azul Lounge, tomorrow's DRIFT, and the SF Gay & Lesbian Chorus performance. no, folks, it's just me in my pjs feeling miserable and probably watching awful daytime TV with a box of Kleenex next to me.

but on a better note, i received the january 2009 issue of Shojo Beat which included their 2009 calendar. i already have calendars for 2009, but i'm sure i'll find a place for this one. here's a peek at the month of January - gotta love Vampire Knight, eh?
